THE STORY
Hospitality since 1965
Hotel Milano Alpen Resort in Bratto was founded in 1965 from an idea by Tommaso Iannotta and Maria Tomasoni: to create, at the foot of the Presolana, a place where guests could be welcomed “like family,” with the style and elegance of grand hotels.
During the height of the Val Seriana tourism boom, their intuition was simple and brilliant: combine warm Bergamasque hospitality with the attention to detail learned during their years in Lombardy. Hence the name “Milano,” a tribute to the time spent in the city and to an idea of modern hospitality.
In a short time, the hotel—then with just 24 rooms—became a landmark for those seeking high-quality mountain hospitality. The first recognitions followed (such as the Green Ribbon of Europe for gastronomy and the European Tourism Leader Award in 1975), along with loyal guests who returned every year because “it feels good here.”

Today, the philosophy of Hotel Milano Alpen Resort in Castione della Presolana is carried forward by brothers Roberto and Fabio Iannotta, heirs to a vision of hospitality that places the person at the center—not the structure.
Fabio passionately leads the hotel and restaurant operations, crafting a high-level gourmet experience and personally curating the famous “one-meter-high” wine list—a journey through over 100 Champagne labels selected from small independent vignerons and prestigious maisons.Roberto, the visionary soul of wellness, created the exclusive Alpen Spa, a sanctuary of relaxation and nature, as well as the Alpen 20 cosmetic line, inspired by Alpine herbs and the authentic scents of the Lombard mountains.
What has never changed is the spirit behind every gesture: making every guest feel important. Whether it’s a relaxing weekend, a corporate event, a wedding, or dinner at Ristorante Al Caminone, the Iannotta family’s hospitality remains elegant, sincere, and never intrusive.

Since 1985, Hotel Milano has been a 4-star hotel in Castione della Presolana. Today it features 58 alpine chic-style rooms and suites, the gourmet restaurant Al Caminone, the Lounge Bar with the refined “Clos des Goisses” Champagne bar, and one of the most renowned spas in Val Seriana.
Yet despite its growth, it remains a true family hotel: the faces welcoming you are the same over time, breakfasts are filled with the scent of homemade cakes, and every detail is cared for with genuine attention.

THE TERRITORY
Castione della Presolana
We are in the heart of the Upper Val Seriana, in one of the most beautiful and still authentic areas of the province of Bergamo. The Presolana is our home mountain—the Queen of a green and luminous land in summer, dressed in white in winter, offering postcard-perfect scenery.
Hotel Milano in Bratto is perfectly located for those who want to explore the Presolana and return in the evening to a welcoming place with gourmet cuisine and a wellness area.
In the historic center of Castione della Presolana stand Liberty-style villas and 19th-century buildings, some of which can be visited through guided tours organized locally, along with historic churches such as San Rocco and Sant’Alessandro Martire, guardians of works by the Fantoni Masters.
Just outside the village, easily reachable via gentle trails, the little church of San Peder offers spectacular views over the Orobie Alps; the Valle dei Mulini welcomes climbers among water-rich crossings; and the Salto degli Sposi features a panoramic balcony suspended above the valley.

Walks and Skiing
The Presolana is a destination that changes with the seasons, offering outdoor activities for every age and time of year. In summer, nature invites you to explore: panoramic trails, forest walks, e-bike excursions, horseback riding, or guided trekking between mountain huts and alpine pastures. Families can discover the Enchanted Forest Trail, Orsetto Castle, or enjoy the summer bobsleigh at the Presolana Pass.
For adrenaline lovers, there are more challenging trails, rock climbing (both outdoor and indoor), downhill biking, adventure parks, archery, canyoning, and paragliding over the peaks. Winter transforms the landscape into a white blanket perfect for skiing, snowshoeing, or simply relaxing by a fireplace.
The two main ski areas are Monte Pora and Donico in Presolana. Both offer slopes for every level—from beginners to experts—with modern lifts, ski schools, illuminated runs, and panoramic solariums.
Donico is also home to Lombardy’s first center dedicated to teaching skiing to people with disabilities—a sign of the welcoming and inclusive spirit of this territory. Castione della Presolana is also a place of culture and flavors: events, village festivals, tastings, and markets enliven both summer and winter, while local trattorias and the Hotel Milano’s Ristorante Al Caminone reinterpret the cuisine of the territory with creativity and refinement.
